Mental Health Services – Crisis support

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis and need help, call NHS 111 and select option 2. Specially-trained mental health staff will speak to you and discuss your mental health care needs – instead of having to go to accident and emergency departments in local acute hospitals.

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust

The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust was formed on 1 April 2017. The trust runs three busy hospitals – Peterborough City Hospital, Hinchingbrooke Hospital and Stamford and Rutland Hospital. Together they serve approximately 700,000 residents living in Cambridgeshire, South Lincolnshire and the neighbouring counties. Our hospital sites offer a wide variety of acute services to a growing population. All three sites deliver inpatient and outpatient services.

Sexual Health

Our iCaSH (integrated Contraception and Sexual Health) service provides all aspects of sexual and reproductive health, including contraception, sexually transmitted infection (STI) and HIV testing and treatment. iCaSH is available from easily accessible single locations across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Peterborough and Suffolk.

Community Link Transport

Community Link is designed for people who are unable to use or have difficulty using public transport, or where no public transport is available. Whether you use a wheelchair or not, our specialised transport and professional drivers will help you to gain greater access to shops and other vital services. The Community Link Bus is wheelchair accessible.

Peterborough Association for the Blind

We are a registered charity dedicated to helping visually impaired people and their carers find the right level of help to maintain their quality of life. We already support and provide activities to around 300 members and that number is growing at a rapid pace. According to the RNIB, this now makes an estimated 4,640 local people living with severe sight loss and why PAB are committed to offer the ongoing help and support that they might need.

The Home Help Company

We are co-ordinating local volunteers to help with those self-isolating. The Home Help Company is a company that caters for at-home needs for the elderly such as cleaning, meal preparation and providing company. Volunteers are offering to help collect shopping, prescriptions and give phone calls to reduce social isolation. Their volunteers will all be DBS checked.

Bearded Villains East Anglia

Bearded Villains East Anglia is also offering to help, giving those who are vulnerable essentials items like toilet rolls, antibacterial hand soap and long life food. The group is offering a collection service and will be distributing the items to those who most need it.

PCVS (Peterborough Council for Voluntary Services)

Peterborough Volunteer Centre acts as the hub for volunteering activity in the City, working with both organisations and volunteers. We provide training, referrals and comprehensive all-round support.

We can help you share your kindness with those who need it most By becoming a community reserve volunteer, you will help your community get back on track in the event of a major local emergency. This may be particularly important right now and we are working with the authorities to support the Covid-19 response in the best possible way.
